General Information

Established in 1922, Rosemont Upper is a nationally recognized 2023 Blue Ribbon School and a recipient of the 2023 Gold Ribbon Award. The campus is located in Oak Cliff, adjacent to the Bishop Arts neighborhood. The Rosemont Schools, a partnership between Rosemont Lower - Chris V. Semos Primary (Pre-K - 2nd) and Rosemont Upper Campus (3rd- 8th) have a rich tradition for excellence in education.

Rosemont offers a Dual Language Program that helps children learn and be able to communicate in a second language, within an enrichment model. In 2012, Rosemont Elementary expanded to include grades 6-8 becoming the first application Dual Language Middle School in Dallas ISD. In 2018, Rosemont was the first school to offer Foreign Language in Elementary School (FLES). The FLES program offers Spanish to all General Education students through 135 minutes/week of conversational Spanish connected to a themed curriculum.

In addition to bilingualism and biculturalism, fine arts is at the heart of the campus culture. Students have an opportunity to participate in over twenty-four extra curricular clubs and activities which range from dance and orchestra to chess and e-sports. On any given day, Rosemont Bison work alongside each other to spearhead community service drives, take an active part in the leadership of the campus, and develop relationships so that every student has a sense of belonging, every day.

In addition to one hundred years of excellence, our community celebrates the first early childhood parent teacher association in the state of Texas (chartered in 1926) and an award-winning Dads’ club. Community partnership is the backbone of the experience at Rosemont. The school’s Site Based Decision Making committee (SBDM) is very active and often used as a model for other schools.

Just as our physical structure undergoes a makeover, our community is working together to develop the next chapter of excellence at Rosemont. Together, we charge forward to embrace our growth while still honoring our foundation of community, inclusivity, and service.
